Endeavour V – Latest And Largest Macduff Build
The first trawler to be built at Macduff for skipper Peter Lovie, Endeavour V, is the latest instalment in a relationship that goes back 35 years – and the yard’s largest newbuild to date. New crab boat faces the harsh realities of a tough season
The commercial Dungeness crab season is well underway and there’s a new boat in town. New Whitby lobster boat launches on choppy post-Brexit waters
“Our Henry” is owned by business partners Terry Pearson and Luke Russell. Mr Pearson is the merchant for the local shellfishing fleet, while Mr Russell will skipper the catamaran, the first new boat to join the Whitby fleet for a decade, along with two other crew and a trainee. Made In Macduff
Adam Tait and his sons Adam and Jonathan went back to Macduff Shipyards for a new F/V Jacqueline Anne, replacing a trawler delivered by the same yard in 2013, with the new trawler built to the yard’s latest design. Built to fish around Scotland but mainly on North Sea grounds, Jacqueline Anne has been built using the same hull from as F/V Crystal Sea, which Macduff delivered in early 2020 to the Stevens family in Newlyn. The 24.50 metre LAO, 7.60 metre breadth design is an evolution of the yard’s older 24 metre design, with modifications made to reduce hull resistance and improve fuel efficiency. photos, >click to read< 15:48
Irish Shipyard Supplies Trawler To Shipping Company In Shetland
The latest new fishing vessel built and equipped from the Irish shipyard Mooney Boats in Killybegs is a trawler for the shipping company One Way Fishing Company in Shetland. The ‘Ocean Challenge’ LK-253 was built for the owner Leslie Hughson and his family. Three years ago, the former vessel ‘Ocean Way’ was lost north-east of Shetland and until the end of February this year they had been fishing with the other vessel in the ‘Fairway’ shipping company. Hendrika Jacoba GY-127 – The Latest in Stellendam Yard’s Trawler/ Seiner Series
Klaas van den Berg and his family have taken delivery of the new Hendrika Jacoba GY-127, the latest in an ongoing series of fly-shooter/twin-riggers coming from the Padmos yard. In the fishing company’s forty-year history, this is the first newbuild, and the 24.95 metre overall, 8.50 metre breadth 
Hendrika Jacoba replaces a 40-metre former beamer built in 1982 as GO-38, which was initially converted to work as a twin-rigger before a subsequent refit added fly-shooting capacity. The deck is laid out with split netdrums mounted in the aft gantry and the seine/trawl winches are controlled by a Marelec trawl computer with options for automatic modes. photo’s, information, >click to read< 13:15
Damen Maaskant Shipyards lays keel for two vessels
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam held a keel-laying ceremony in Poland for two new beam trawlers for Rederij Devan and Rederij Long Ships. While the new beam trawler for Rederij Devan will be christened as the Z21 Avanti, its sister-ship for Rederij Long Ships will be called Z91 Franson. >click to read< 10:09
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Lays Keels for Belgian Fishing Fleet – The vessels are based on Maaskant’s BT3808 design. The BT3808, with specifications that include the maximum permitted length and gross tonnage set by the Belgian Maritime Inspectorate, is a perfect fit for these experienced operators. The basic design has been modified in cooperation with SIP Marine to reduce fuel consumption and increase bollard pull. >click to read<
Anna UK-24, a strong resemblance to the latest generation of twin riggers fishing in the North Sea, but is a new design
The 27.75 metre by 8 metre breadth Anna has hull lines and a round underwater shape that have been developed from scratch, and there’s going to be plenty of interest in the fuel consumption figures once a decent amount of fishing time has been put in. Albert Romkes went to the Hoekman 
Shipbuilding yard in Urk for the new twin-rigger’s construction, using a hull fabricated in Poland, and reports are that Anna has performed well in its first trips at the end of the summer. Our latest lobster boat: Force of Nature
Completed in late April 2020, some 12 months after contracts were signed, Force of Nature is a 22.4 metre Southerly Designs monohull which, like other recent Dongara Marine fishing and pilot boat newbuilds, combines an aluminium hull with a composite superstructure. The new boat is an upgrade from Perham’s current vessel, the 17.1 metre Conquest 55 Natural Selection, which was built for him by Sea Chrome Marine in 1994 and which Perham is selling to make way for Force of Nature.,, “When Natural Selection was built it was pretty much the average size crayboat, perhaps slightly above average if anything. In the 1990s only a handful of new boats, maybe one in every 20, were over 70 feet. Lady Sophie – Focus on shellfish
Made to harvest for shellfish for Grimsby company Fastline Shellfish, Lady Sophie has been built in Padstow to a new 12 metre design. Owners Fastline Shellfish are a family-owned business that has bee trading on the Grimsby docks since 2009, although the Kenyon family’s roots in the fishing industry go back a long way. Aiming to supply top-quality fresh shellfish, the focus is on cutting short the supply chain by catching its own crabs, lobsters and whelks, which are processed and supplied through the Fastline shop. video, photo’s, >click to read< 09:42
Yantar Shipyard to build Russia’s largest freezer trawler. 396 feet long
Kaliningrad, Russia based Baltic Shipyard Yantar (member of United Shipbuilding Corporation) says it has come to a final agreement with Fishing Collective Farm named after V. Lenin on construction of a large fishing freezer trawler of new design. The construction contract will come into force upon completion of require procedures. The ship is to be laid down in July 2019 with the delivery scheduled for 2023. >click to read<15:30
